In Frankfort, Illinois, a person was killed during an armed robbery at Ryan’s Pub early Saturday morning. The Will County Sheriff’s Office reported that two armed men wearing masks and gloves entered the bar around 3:15 a.m. and demanded money from patrons. The robbers threatened to shoot everyone in the bar if their demands were not met. It was later revealed that the guns used by the robbers were replica firearms, similar to airsoft guns. One of the replica guns was found near the deceased robber’s body, while the other was found in the pub’s parking lot.
A patron in the bar was also armed and shot one of the robbers multiple times, causing the other robber to flee on foot and escape in a nearby vehicle. The robber who was shot was pronounced dead at the scene by the Frankfort Fire Protection District. The deceased robber has been identified as a 20-year-old male, but his name has not been released pending family notification. The majority of the stolen money was recovered from the dead robber.
